Dr. George Loewen
Dr. Loewen is a gentle and trusted Winnipeg dentist with strong training and years of real experience. He grew up in Winnipeg and earned his science degree from the University of Winnipeg.
He later graduated from the University of Manitoba College of Dentistry with honors. Before becoming a dentist, Dr. Loewen worked for two years as a firefighter and paramedic at Station 5 in Winnipeg. That time shaped his approach to care—hands-on, calm, and focused on people. He knows how to handle urgent situations and make patients feel safe. He got his advanced hospital training in Minnesota through the University of Manitoba’s dental residency program. There, he learned how to manage surgeries like tooth removal, implants, and wisdom teeth extractions.
He’s also trained in using sedation to help patients feel relaxed and at ease. For patients who need full sleep during treatment, Dr. Loewen works with Dr. Daya, the Head of Anesthesia at Grace Hospital. This means patients can rest fully during longer or more complex visits. A registered nurse is always on hand to help patients recover safely after deep sleep.
Dr. Loewen has also taught other dentists how to handle emergencies in the dental office. He has taught surgery to dental students at the Mount Carmel Clinic in Winnipeg. Today, he focuses on safe, pain-free care. He uses his training and past experience to help each patient feel calm and confident.

Areas We Serve
Frequently Asked Questions
When should children first see a dentist?
Once the first tooth appears we recommend booking their first visit, or by the time they are 1.
What causes bad breath?
Bad breath (“halitosis”) can be caused by lack of moisture, low salivary flow, poor oral health, and bacteria interaction.
How often should I visit dentist for a dental checkup?
We recommend a dental checkup at least once or twice a year.
How can my cracked tooth be fixed?
Many oral problems won’t show their symptoms until they have progressed to more advanced stages. By the time your tooth starts to hurt, the cavity has already compromised layers of your tooth to cause inflammation or infection.
